We just finished the two day seminar for the drug and alcohol addiction and God was there in power and simplicity!!! The speaker from the rehab place was wonderful, very knowledgeable but very Christ centered. other speakers also were blessed by God in the topics.
We had two young men who are recovering who spook, one has been sober three years now and he gave a powerful message that he was so addicted to alcohol he ended up burning his house down and he lost all he had and his wife and children left him, his parents told him to go and he realize he had nothing except God and it was then that he realized that God was enough. He said even his dog hated him. 🙂 He had to leave his home area and go where he was unknown and God helped him overcome. His family has been restored to him and he is a strong witness in his community. It was interesting as he ask about Will and I wondered how he knew him and he said he had come to one of his teachings and was very blessed. Many people have told me the same and how much they missed “dad”!
The other young man was almost at the point of no return and his parents took him to the rehab center and he found God and is also witnessing openly for God. He is the one who connected us with the rehab center.
But the most joyful event was when today one of the town’s worst drunkards came early and was lead to salvation. He said he had always walked by the church but yesterday the pastor had issued a special invitation for him to come and so he did and returned today because Sammy the team “doctor” went to his house and only allowed him to drink one bottle. He was quite drunk yesterday, he took the one bottle today so he could function to come. It was such a joyous time as he looked into our eyes and said, ‘is it really possible for God to forgive and save me?” He has to appear before the court on November 6th for sentencing for his 7 offense for drunkenness and disturbing the town. His plans were to commit suicide before that date to spare his family. BUT GOD met him and by God’s provision we have been able to come up with 1/3 of the cost of rehab for the 4 months he needs to stay there. (I know God will supply the rest!!) He was taken immediately after our sessions and is even now in the care of medical people who love God. The speaker assured us that they could write to the court and get his sentencing delayed for three months while he finishes rehab. His name is Robert please pray with us for him.
God had given me the verse in John 16: where Jesus says, “you have not asked for anything in my name but now you can ask what you want and it will be given you that your joy may be full.” I prayed and asked God to Glorify His Name today. There was MUCH joy by all today. Many young people also shared they had heard and would heed the warnings. Another football club has asked me to please come share God’s word with them before I leave, pray for time to accomplish all that God is leading in. The human mind says “no way” but GOD say I will give strength and wisdom not your own!!!
We have met several solid Christians who will partner with us as we seek to continue to present seminars to this village which is literally on the brink of hell. One speaker spoke very plainly on homosexuality and of the great problem there of old women taking the young men and the old men taking the young gals and corrupting them with offers of money. William will come one month to share with them also.
My heart is overflowing as I see God moving and opening a door that no man can shut as His love is being shared and lifted up in answer to prayer!!!.
Pray as we proceed with the well plans, we get all bids in by Wed and we meet Wed morning with the chief and the landowners to write “arguments” for the land we want to have surveyed for possible drilling.
Our time is getting shorter but I am confident God will stretch our time to fit all the real needs. Also the land owners met today to decide final price for land for the orphanage and I am waiting William call on that. God truly is pouring us out a blessings so His name can be glorified!!!!
